Vista Historical Society Annual Meeting and Hall of Fame Induction
The Vista Historical Society annual meeting and Hall of Fame induction will be held at the San Luis Rey Downs Golf Resort at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014. Members of the board of directors also will be installed.
Newly elected to the Vista Hall of Fame are Paul and Diane Eckert, Carl Pinamonti, and Bernard Rappaport.
Paul and Diane Eckert are long time Vista residents, business owners and philanthropists. Paul, a former Fifth District Supervisor, and his wife Diane have supported many Vista organizations through the years including Vista Historical Society, the Moonlight Amphitheater, and Vista Boys and Girls Club as well as many other organizations.
Carl Pinamonti, known for his community service, used his construction skills as well as his fundraising ability in many ways. He was one of the principles in the construction and financing of the original Moonlight amphitheater. He also was a principal fundraiser for the Vista Boys and Girls Club. He was one of the founders of local Pop Warner football and also assisted many other organizations.
Bernard Rappaport is a former Vista Mayor and Councilman. For many years, he has assisted with the Friends of the Vista Library; he was in charge of promoting proposition L that resulted in the new City Hall as well as other civic buildings and uses. He has been a civic activist for over 40 years.
The annual meeting is open to Vista Historical Society & Museum members and all interested area residents.
